ABSTRACT

The article discusses an approach to the development of an end-to-end lifecycle management process for network equipment for telecommunications companies.

The author provides the solid grounding for the relevance of this topic pointing out the increase of competition between the key players of the field of telecommunications services. Companies' existing network equipment lifecycle management processes are characterized by bureaucratization, low level of maturity of IT support and blurring of areas of responsibility.

Formalization and standardization of lifecycle management processes for network equipment from calculating the need for equipment to its retiring would allow reduce operating logistics costs and free up cash immobilized in stocks, which will lead to an increase in their competitiveness in the market.

On the basis of the reviewed Russian and foreign scientific literature a model of the lifecycle of network equipment was developed, as well as a set of supporting measures. The model pays equal attention to each stage of the lifecycle while taking into account the industry specifics.

The developed approach was tested on the example of one of the four main players in the Russian telecommunications market. Among the main results of the implementation of the proposed measures should be mentioned a reduction of clients penalties for the low level of services provided, reduce of logistics costs and the level of stock of equipment and spare parts in the supply chain of the company.

ABSTRACT

The article is devoted to the formation of a management model of the logistics system of a mining enterprise – the focal company of the supply chain. To ensure its activities, a mining company forms a complex structure – the supply chain, representing a set of organizations creating additional customer value, interacting with the movement of material and other related flows from the source of raw materials to the final consumer. Supply chain management activities include integrative behavior of a focal company aimed at its customers and suppliers. The efficiency of the entire supply chain depends primarily on the effectiveness of the activities of its main link – the logistics system of the focal company of the supply chain.
To solve this problem, the author proposed a conceptual approach based on system analysis to form a model for managing the logistics system of the focal company of the supply chain.
The proposed approach specifies the purpose of the logistics system, conditions and methods for achieving it, the necessary resources, business processes, qualitative parameters to evaluate the effectiveness of managing the logistics system and its subsystems. The need to adapt the proposed model of management of the logistics system to the specific conditions of a mining enterprise activity affecting the mechanism of management of logistics flows is justified.
The author has developed a technique for quantitative assessment of the properties of the logistics system, as well as indicators for the operational control and evaluation of the management efficiency of the mining company’s logistics system.

ABSTRACT

Key elements of process of organizational change management in the logistics business are defined and described in the article. The problem of improving the process of organizational change management is linked with organizational changes effectiveness which is substantially set in borders of the management of these changes. The criterion of effectiveness of organizational changes is set, and according to this criterion management tasks have to be ranged, projected and evaluated from a position of development of functional stability properties of an organization considered as an open social and economic system. The range of management tasks of organizational changes is defined and their differentiation on functional stability properties of the business organizations is determined.

The model of process of organizational change management suggested in the article specifies its key positions for the case when ensuring functional stability of organizations in the logistics business is accepted criterion of management efficiency. Concurrently goal-setting of management is defined by the greatest possible use of factors of development of such system properties as organization balance, its adaptability, and integration. Disclosure of model of process of organizational change management is accompanied by specification of differences between organizational changes initiated by managers and changes which are beyond their competence, arising as a result of influence of external and internal unregulated factors. The article describes key positions of process of organizational change management. The importance of these positions is usually underestimated by managers whereas these positions are to be guidelines when establishing and correcting goal-setting of administrative influences in due time.

On the example of generalization of questionnaire-based survey findings received from the logistics business experts, it is proved that differentiation of the key reasons for organizational changes is necessary. During the research innovative activity of the logistics business organization was a subject of differentiation. Differentiation was performed on grounds of innovation (the new equipment or technology), and a segment of its implementation. The  research results show that differentiation of organizational changes reasons enables to define a preferable area of administrative influences, to specify their goal-setting as well as labour intensity.

ABSTRACT

Nowadays, it is necessary to capture accumulate, analyze and manage a huge amount of data while managing logistics processes. However, the world’s amount of data is generated with an exponentially growing pace and current IT tools are becoming inadequate. To solve potential problems, the Big Data concept was created. The idea is to accumulate, store, analyze and manage the amount of data that significantly exceed the functionality of traditional systems. The article touches upon the definition of Big Data and Big Data Analytics, which include modern techniques for processing big data sets to search for hidden pattern which allow making better decisions and improve business efficiency. In addition, the article examines the main approaches to the systematization of types of analytics and analytical techniques used to process data and generate conclusions for decision-makers. The author considers the influence of different cases on processes in supply chains. However, despite the benefits already achieved in the implementation of Big data processing technologies, further development of the implementation methodology is required.

ABSTRACT

One of the greatest challenges for middle and top management is to know where and when to invest in new technologies. This problem is even more complicated for supply chain managers as their decision will directly affect the way the company’s products are moved down the chain to the final customer.

The following article has been prepared to provide supply chain managers in the fields of retail, automotive, electronics, consumer goods and food supply, among others, with

an overview of the trends expected to have the greatest impact on the logistics industry between now and 2025. The article is based upon an extensive meta-analysis of over 70 studies on technology trends and a broad survey of experienced supply chain management professionals. In addition to a broad ranking of trend importance it will look in depth at the four key trends of logistics development: Omni-Channel Logistics, Segmentation, Big Data Management and the Internet of Things.

According to our findings, these four trends are likely to have a greater influence on resource allocation decisions than other trends also predicted to affect the industry, such as drones, blockchain and radio frequency identification. Coupled with the growth of these trends is an expected increase in demand for qualified IT staff who can provide technological infrastructure to drive competitiveness in these four core areas.

The issue of resource allocation will continue to play an essential role as the industry moves forward in the age of e-commerce, cloud-based systems and real-time tracking.

Our goal in this paper is to therefore provide managers with a concise overview of logistics trends expected in the near future as a means to assist in decision-making processes.

sented. The controlling functions systematization is offered, the analysis of current condition, problems and tendencies in companies' logistic controlling development is made. The logistics instruments and logistic controlling algorithm in supply chain management are reviewed.
Logistic controlling is a key function in logistic management. By the results of the research made by company "Shell", the average corporate life is about 20 years. Only some corporations were succeeded to exist for 40-50 years. This analysis allows for the conclusion that big corporations' long standing was provided by the efficient planning and controlling system implementation. It is obvious that controlling implementation is a critical task. Its solution will help to improve logistic systems efficiency.

Meanwhile, the methods which are presented in scientific publications are fragmentary and incomplete, while the existing analytical tools which are used in logistic systems controlling evaluation needs the revision and the development. One of the promising solutions to the described problem is the methodology development which includes relevant models and methods for logistic controlling formation and evaluation, analysis tools and management methods.

The model of continious rolling planning, management decisions execution control and record, which summarizes modern methodological approaches and solutions connected with supply chains and production controlling, is presented in the article. The main factors of controlling system development and the classification of supply chain management performance indicators in the process of controlling system evaluation are described. The algorithm for logistic controlling and management solutions efficiency improvement in logistic systems is presented.

ABSTRACT

The task of increasing the efficiency of production and and financial activities is more relevant today for domestic enterprises of the real sector of the economy, which is necessary in the coming years to solve the problem of import substitution on a number of items of products, previously imported from the European Union and the United States. The paper presents various options for setting the problem of optimizing the enterprise production program with limited material and financial resources. The dynamic and static performances, as well as a model that takes into account the uncertainty of the state of the environment. Static models belong to the class of linear and nonlinear programming. The dynamic model is the optimal control problem for which, due to the complexity of the decision procedures, proposed a method of obtaining an approximate solution based on the approximation of the integrand. Uncertainties taken into account in two models: one assumes that a priori unknown prices for finished products, the other – the best solution depends
on the advance of the unknown quantity of inflation. An example of one of the models implementation for the practical solution of the problem of production program optimization of the food industry is given in the article. It is shown that the solution can not only determine the optimum amounts of the finished product for multi nomenclature production, but also to justify the conclusion about the need to attract credit and leasing.

ABSTRACT

Retun flows are becoming of larger interest to supply chain managers as “green logistics” awareness and opportunities for recycling and use of returned goods and materials grow. Reverse logistics definition fully corresponds with the definition of logistics as it is except that it refers to the material flow running from end consumers to suppliers. So, one might suggest that cooperation in return flows management would give the same benefits as cooperation in direct supply chain. And, above all, it must influence the volume of return flow, that is, ability to maximize or minimize it depending on the constituents of the flow and business goals. The article refers to the options allowing to include issues of the desired return volumes management into existing supply chain cooperation practices. It demonstrates that mostly cooperation helps to minimize probability of unplanned returns emerging, and proposes that it is most advisable to include return flows issues into the existing cooperation processes rather than start new cooperation basing on return flows.
