ABSTRACT

In the era of digital and Internet technologies growth, digital transformation of supply chains already seems to be an unavoidable process that most companies have to face if they want to maintain their competitive advantages in the market or acquire new ones. Today "blockchain" technology is one of the breakthrough technologies that is increasingly attracting business representatives because it is designed to solve most of the problems of various companies. "Blockchain" technology is especially relevant for manufacturing enterprises, because they often face the problem of counterfeit goods, a low level of trust between contractors and problem of weak information security. The use of "blockchain "technology can eliminate all these problems; however, any company expects difficulties in implementing and adapting" blockchain" before the above problems are solved. One of the key challenges of implementing blockchain technology in the supply chain is the scale of digitalization accompanied by huge costs for purchasing Internet of things devices, creating digital tags and other elements of the digital supply chain. Over the past three years, the ecosystem of "blockchain" projects has changed dramatically: there are many more projects, the scope of application of the technology has expanded, and commercial software solutions for various types of companies have begun to appear on the market. This article will discuss the basic principles of the "blockchain" technology, types of "blockchain" systems and best practices in the use of technology in the management of supply chains of food industry enterprises.

ABSTRACT

Currently, logistics, like other sectors of the economy, is undergoing intensive implementation of digital technologies. Smart and network technologies are an integral part of many companies' supply chains. One of these technologies is social networks which have become a powerful media tool that is actively used not only for personal information exchange, but also for commercial purposes by various companies, including logistics ones. Western researchers have long conducted studies on the use of popular social networks (Twitter, etc.) by logistic companies. This paper provides a brief collection of practices of using social networks by leading foreign logistic companies; in addition, it examines the use of the social network «Vkontakte », focued mainly on Russian-speaking users, in Russian logistics practice. For this purpose, the authors developed specialized software used to analyze more than 33,000 posts published since 2014 by various participants of the logistics market in terms of their level and specialization. The results showed that while major players in the Russian logistics market, such as JSC Russian Railways, TransContainer, and Transneft, use social networks primarily to create a favorable image of the company, smaller ones use them very actively to promote their services and recruit employees, mainly freight forwarders. In addition, the developed approach was applied to analyze the reflection of new trends in the transport industry using the example of the dynamics of joint mention of the topic of transport and the topic of a new coronavirus infection in news reports.

ABSTRACT

The article deals with topical issues of digital transformation of air cargo transportation. It should help the air transport market to stop emerging threats and take advantage of new technologies for digital management of new business processes in a timely manner. The binder of the functional link between the forwarding network and an airline is a cargo terminal. The technological processes performed by the terminal and other subjects of the aviation supply chain as well as their compliance with the existing legal field, are analyzed. The uniqueness of the aviation cargo terminal functionality in the Russian Federation is emphasized. It is concluded that it is possible to create a digital platform for cargo terminal to organize fundamentally new business processes for managing air cargo transportation using data in digital form.
The result of the digital transformation should be the transformation of the international air cargo terminal into a «digital freight forwarder» – a «digital aggregator» of international air transport and related services. The article deals with a pilot project of a promising digital platform: transformation of the cargo terminal's work with Agency and subagent companies on the complex organization of international Express cargo shipments by air and combined (aviation- automobile) transport to individuals and legal entities.

ABSTRACT

The aim of the work is to study the dynamics of indicators and develop recommendations for improving the economic security system of the transport complex. The subject of the study is the economic security of the transport complex as a necessary condition for the economic development, ensuring the country’s integrity and defense capability and improving the population living standards.

In the research process, general scientific methods and an improved indicative method were used, based on a comparison of the actually achieved values of the safety indicators and their threshold values.

As the analysis showed, the financial and economic crisis of 2008-2010 had a strong negative impact on the economic security of the transport complex. The currency and socio-economic crisis that erupted in 2014 was less noticeable. The beginning of economic growth contributed to the increase of indicators of economic security.

There is currently no threat to economic security. Nevertheless, it is necessary to take into account that one of the indicators, “passenger transportation” has negative dynamics and has already reached the threshold value. This indicates the possible emergence of a threat to economic security in the future.

Economic security is adversely affected by restrictions reducing transport efficiency. Many restrictions can be eliminated by digitalizing the transport complex.

The study showed that at present, Russian companies, especially transport companies, do not exploit the possibilities of digital technologies. The accelerated implementation of modern information technologies will lead to an increase in the main indicators of the state of the transport complex economic security.

Particular attention should be paid to increasing passenger traffic. To solve these problems, it is necessary to develop state programs aimed at stimulating population mobility.

ABSTRACT

The article presents the current state of digital procurement technologies adoption in Russia compared to other countries. Major implementation barriers are highlighted. The research is based on consulting companies’ surveys, scientific publications and other relevant sources. Thus, main problems companies face during digital transformation of procurement were grouped by six perspective factors: technologic, organizational, competence-based, methodical, opportunistic and regulatory factors.
In particular, authors note that even taking into account high popularity level of digital procurement, there is still no single position about defining which technologies should be treated as “digital”. Authors attempt to determine the set of these technologies correlating them with “end-to-end” digital technologies classified in Roadmap for digital technologies development in Russia. Special accent is laid on the fact that sourcing is not the subject of systematic research in Russia either for academic or for consulting fields.
Most of international research is conducted by suppliers/developers of IT-based solutions, by companies providing outsourcing and/or by consulting companies, which leads to doubt in objectivity of conclusions and recommendations resulting from the research.

The authors make conclusion about the most popular directions of procurement digitalization in Russia based on open access references analysis: press releases, media publications. The authors conclude that modern systematic development of methodology for “intellectual” filling of digital technologies is limited, namely in sourcing risk identification and assessment sphere, in event management, in reference models for operations algorithms, in what-if analysis, in controlling, in factor cost analysis, in behavior models for “supplier-client” interaction, etc. Besides, a huge gap between modern technologies functionality and procurement specialists’ skills and knowledge still exists. Finally, a low level of labor automatisation in procurement is Russia’s specific feature. This conclusion is supported by analysis of requirements for procurement positions candidates that was conducted by the authors.

ABSTRACT

The article is devoted to actual problems of digitalization in the network retail industry. The role of supply chain management (SCM) in network retail is shown, and attention is focused on key trends in SCM, many of which are associated with the digital transformation of supply chains. The best practices in the field of digitalization of supply chains of industrial and commercial enterprises are analyzed. In particular, the article considers the experience of digital transformations of large world corporations supply chains, such as HP and Nokia, as well as the analytical reports of the leading consultants in SCM companies Gartner, Deloitte and Accenture on digitalization of enterprises in various sectors of the economy.

Based on the analysis, key trends in retail digitalization were identified and methodological approaches to the transformation of a conventional chain retailer's supply chain into digital were identified. The main digital technologies used today in Russia by network retail operators are identified.

A methodological approach to the digital transformation of the supply chain of a network retailer based on process (SCOR) modeling is proposed. Using the example of the largest network retailers of the Russian Federation, Magnit, X5 Retail Group, and M. Video companies, a SCOR model of a typical supply chain of a retail chain enterprise is constructed, based on which a possible list of digital technologies, systems and devices corresponding to each process in determined models.
